Planetary Aspects

Chapter 6: Astrology – Fantasy or Functionally Purposeful?

Astrology - Fantasy or Functionally Purposeful?

From time immemorial, astrology has largely been perceived as a subject of fortune forecasting. This perception arises from a gross misunderstanding of the zodiac, which forms the very foundation of astrology.

Most discussions revolve around zodiac signs, planetary ownership, dasha, bhukti, and antar periods, with interpretations built around forecasting life events. For centuries, this cycle has continued uninterrupted, supported by selective examples of celebrities and popular personalities.

This approach gradually produced what may be called the “rule-book of astrology.” Unfortunately, such mechanical interpretation defeats the creative purpose of the zodiac itself.

The planets have virtually become the private property of astrologers. Let us consider one simple question:

If astrology is merely a technical arrangement of planetary combinations, can the world’s greatest astrologer create the perfect horoscope—one that guarantees ideal education, wealth, power, recognition, health, achievement, and exceptional longevity?

The answer is obvious. No one can. Why? Because the assignment of life is beyond human calculation. It belongs to a higher intelligence operating through cosmic law.

What is Ascendant in Astrology?

This is the crux of the matter. Technically, the Ascendant is described as an imaginary point continuously rising in the East. But this technical definition only scratches the surface.

The Ascendant is the dynamic point at which cosmic intelligence continuously assigns form to karmic consequence.

The universe is perpetually active in shaping outcomes. The Karmic Reactor operates ceaselessly—individually for every particle of creative power called soul, and collectively for the entire field of existence.

This is not a physical reactor of human design. It is the Cosmic Settlement Mechanism through which action finds consequence. Its operational depth is beyond ordinary comprehension. Yet when the zodiac is studied holistically, its architecture begins to reveal this truth.

Astrology and the Zodiac

Astrology was never designed to help humanity escape the doctrine of Karma. Its purpose was to illuminate it.

The zodiac is the perfect cosmic driving mirror.

As we speed forward through life, consumed by desire and ambition, the zodiac silently reflects what follows us: the consequences of past thought, action, intention, and desire.

Yet humanity largely ignores this mirror. Our collective slogan has become: “Our way or no way.”

And so we continue accelerating, rarely pausing to examine what pursues us from behind. The zodiac, however, never ceases reflecting. It reveals with precision the waves and tides generated by human desire.

Why Astrology is Misunderstood

Planets regulate:

  • seasons
  • tides
  • radiation cycles
  • biological rhythms
  • orbital stability
  • electromagnetic influence

Yet humanity reduces astrology to questions such as:

  • ❓ Will I get promoted next year?
  • 🏠 When will I buy a house?
  • 💍 When will I marry?
  • 👶 When will I have children?
  • 🩺 How will my health be?

The chain is endless. And it perfectly reflects the restless condition of the human mind.

The real question is: Should astrology exist merely for consumer prediction? Or should it help us understand our participation in cosmic law?

If astrology is reduced to consumer forecasting, it appears fantasy. But when understood as the blueprint of conscious participation in cosmic order, it becomes Artistic Science.

Saturn and the Architecture of Accountability

We have already established this world as Karma Bhoomi, where every action generates an equal and corresponding consequence. No action is without reaction. This naturally demands a system of cosmic tracking.

We have already examined the action-generating principles represented through Moon and Mars. It is now time to understand how the zodiac accounts for the consequences of those actions. This brings us to Saturn.

Why Saturn Owns the 10th and 11th Signs

The assignment of Capricorn and Aquarius to Saturn is deeply purposeful. This is not arbitrary planetary ownership.

Aries marks the beginning of action. Action must inevitably generate consequence. Aquarius, the fixed sign of Saturn, stands opposite Leo—the fixed sign of Sun. This opposition is profoundly significant.

The Sun represents the soul. Aquarius represents the fixed field of consequence.

The message is unmistakable: Every action performed in the field of existence becomes permanently inscribed upon the journey of the soul. No action escapes imprint. This is the cosmic architecture of accountability.

Why Saturn Has the 3rd and 10th Vishesh Dhrishti

This is one of the most revealing structural truths of astrology.

Saturn’s 3rd Aspect

From Aquarius, the third sign is Aries. Aries marks the beginning of action. Saturn’s aspect upon Aries signifies: Act freely—but understand that every action enters the ledger of cosmic consequence. Action is never isolated. It is recorded.

Saturn’s 10th Aspect

From Aquarius, the tenth sign is Scorpio. Why choose Aquarius? Simple logic is – it is opposite to Leo. Why not Capricorn? Actions done by the command of mind are the ones which have to be balanced as per the doctrine of Karma and those are the actions which have to be introspected.

Scorpio represents closure, transformation, and karmic termination. Saturn’s 10th aspect upon Scorpio reveals that consequences are not limited to initiation. They also govern completion.

Not only the beginning of action, but its ending, carries karmic accountability.

This is further strengthened by Mars’ ownership of both Aries and Scorpio. The architecture becomes exact:

  • Aries begins action
  • Scorpio concludes action
  • Saturn supervises both

This is cosmic law geometrically encoded.

The True Meaning of Saturn

Saturn has long been painted in dark colours. Its periods, particularly Sade Sati, are widely feared. This fear arises from misunderstanding.

Saturn does not punish. Saturn audits. Saturn refines. Saturn restructures. If Moon represents mind, Saturn’s contact with Moon is not hostility. It is examination. It tests whether the mind has matured sufficiently to carry consciousness responsibly.

This is why what appears painful at the psychological level often proves golden at the evolutionary level. What is commonly feared as suffering may actually be one of life’s most functionally purposeful periods of refinement.

Properly understood, Sade Sathi is not a curse. It is a golden period of structural correction. It is a period of hands-on training and learning it fully instead of resorting to unnecessary remedies while you are the remedy yourself as long as you understand what is the cosmic message. The Karmic Reactor

Without the Vishesh Dhrishti of planets, events would become meaningless. There would be no mechanism of correction. No opportunity for refinement. No cosmic justice.

The Vishesh Dhrishti ensures that every being receives fair opportunity to evolve, regardless of past action. This is the profound functional purpose of astrology. Its tools were never designed merely to satisfy material curiosity. They exist to elevate consciousness.

The Great Human Misjudgment

Humanity calls gold and diamonds precious. Yet these are inert substances extracted from Earth. The true treasure is consciousness itself. Every human being is cosmic biological intelligence incubated within the Karmic Reactor. The purpose of human birth is fulfilled only when this truth is recognized. Can there be any greater gift from the Creator?

Fantasy or Functionally Purposeful?

The answer is now clear. If astrology is viewed as a consumer prediction tool, it appears fantasy. But if understood as the cosmic architecture of karmic accountability and conscious evolution, its purpose becomes unmistakably functional.

The choice is ours. We may continue treating astrology as an instrument of curiosity. Or we may understand it for what it truly is: a map of cosmic participation guiding consciousness back to its source.
